Bardo
Between one state and another.
A time-lapse short film by Romy Randev, with music by Pandit Randev and Hugh Marsh.
The film
The space between.
In Buddhist thought, bardo names a transitional state. This short film approaches the passage between life and death through time-lapse images of movement, landscape and changing light.
The opening shot is of the “Cora,” the walking path circling the Dalai Lama’s residence in McLeod Ganj, India. The rest of the film was shot in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The music is by Pandit Randev—Romy’s grandfather—and Hugh Marsh. It appears on a track from Pandit Randev’s album Silent Thunder.
